CherishED

Evidence-informed occupational therapy support for eating disorder recovery.

CherishED

CherishED provides specialist occupational therapy for adults experiencing eating disorders and difficulties impacting their everyday life, identity, routines, relationships, sensory experiences and participation.

At the heart of CherishED is a simple but powerful belief: every individual has infinite value and deserves to know they are cherished. Eating disorders often erode self-worth; leaving individuals feeling defined by their illness rather than by who they truly are.

Through compassionate, person-centred occupational therapy, CherishED seeks to help individuals reconnect with their identity, recognise their intrinsic value and build fulfilling, meaningful lives beyond the eating disorder.

Why Choose Occupational Therapy?

Eating disorders do not just impact eating.

They affect every aspect of daily life, making it difficult to care for yourself, maintain relationships, work or study, enjoy hobbies, or engage in activities that bring purpose and fulfilment. As the illness takes hold, life often becomes increasingly restricted, with routines and decisions dominated by the eating disorder.

Occupational therapy focuses on collaboratively working with individuals to reclaim meaningful lives beyond the eating disorder. Rather than concentrating solely on symptoms, occupational therapists work alongside people to rebuild confidence, independence and participation in the occupations that matter most to them. Recovery is about more than restoring physical health; it is about rediscovering identity, reconnecting with values and creating a life that feels worth living.
